Applied Science, Inc. (ASI) was founded in 1991 in Grass Valley, California, to develop advanced medical technologies that were simpler, easier and safer to use. This led to the invention of a blood mixer and scale for blood banking organizations. ASI introduced its first product, the HemoFlow 200, into the marketplace, and quickly followed with the HemoFlow 300. In 2008, ASI came out with a third generation product, called the HemoFlow 400XS, which is now used in blood banks throughout the world. ASI is entering the hospital environment, with software solutions designed to reduce human data entry errors and duplicative processes.
